Occupational Therapist Needed Support Functional Skills in Akron City Schools

Akron City Schools is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to help students develop the motor and adaptive skills needed for independence and success in the classroom. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, collaborative team.

Position Overview:
As an OT, you will assess student abilities, create individualized treatment plans, and deliver therapy that promotes participation and skill development across school settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and prepare thorough reports

• Develop and implement treatment plans aligned with IEP goals

• Address fine motor coordination, sensory processing, and self-care skills

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student growth

• Attend IEP meetings and provide updates and recommendations

• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and district requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Occupational Therapy

• Active Ohio Occupational Therapy License

• Ohio Department of Education Certification for School-Based OT

• Prior school-based or pediatric experience preferred

• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills

Job Details:

• Type: Full-time, onsite

• Schedule: MondayFriday during school hours

• Caseload: K12 students (assignments determined by district needs)
