Akron City Schools is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide assessments and therapy that support students in developing the skills they need for success in school and daily activities. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, student-focused environment.
Position Overview:
As an OT, you will assess student needs, design individualized treatment plans, and deliver therapy that builds fine motor, adaptive, and sensory skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and create detailed reports
Develop and implement treatment plans aligned with IEP objectives
Address fine motor development, sensory processing, and self-care abilities
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student success
Attend IEP meetings and share recommendations and progress updates
Maintain accurate documentation to comply with district and state regulations
Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
Active Ohio Occupational Therapy License
Ohio Department of Education Certification for School-Based OT
Prior school or pediatric experience preferred
Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
Job Details:
Type: Full-time, onsite
Schedule: MondayFriday during school hours
Caseload: K12 students (assignments determined by district needs)
