Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Location: Perry Preschool, Elementary School, Middle School, High School

Position Available: 8/11/2025

Days/Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm 180 day calendar

Compensation: Per Exempt Employee Schedule III Salary Schedule

$25.17 - $40.35 based on years of experience

Job Summary:

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide direct and consultative services to students across Preschool through 12th grade. The COTA will support the development of fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, daily living skills, and access to the curriculum in accordance with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). Services may be delivered in a variety of educational settings, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and natural environments. The COTA will collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to support students' functional participation in school activities.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

  • Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

  • Valid and active license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of Ohio

  • Experience working with school-aged children

  • Ability to implement therapy plans developed by an Occupational Therapist

  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between school buildings as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a school-based setting

  • Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation

  • Experience serving students with diverse needs, including autism, sensory processing disorders, and physical or developmental disabilities

  • Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment used in school settings
