Brief Summary:
Restores patients function, alleviates pain, and prevents disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed physical therapy.

Essential Job Functions:
- Meets the patients goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
- Helps patient recover independence after injury or surgery. Gives patients tools to manage pain, increase range of motion, be independent in activities of daily living, return to work and social activities. Measure, fit and issue assistive devices and orthotics as appropriate.
- Administers physical therapy treatments via manual therapy, modalities, therapeutic exercise/activity, patient/caregiver education, home exercise program and other methods as appropriate.
- Completes documentation in accordance with Medicare guidelines.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Maintains HIPPA compliance.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturers instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Education & Experience:
- B.S., M.S. or DPT in Physical Therapy
- One year of outpatient orthopedic and swing-bed experience preferred.
- Current State of Alaska Physical Therapy License.
- CPR certification.
