Speech Language Pathologist - Inpatient - TFP

Position Objective:
Evaluates pediatric through geriatric patients for Speech Language Pathology services providing therapeutic intervention specific to the individual needs of the patient. Completes interventions and documentation according to regulatory and departmental standards.
Essential Job Duties:

Conducts Therapy evaluations and treatments using a variety of appropriate treatment techniques and documents according to established departmental policies and procedures.
Participate in department or hospital initiative for themunity as appropriate.
Demonstrates the ability and requiredpetencies to cross cover by evaluating and treating patients with a variety of diagnoses in various units.
Participates in departmental process improvement initiatives (huddle, metrics,and innovative ideas).
Meets departmental productivity standards andpletes productivity logs in a timely manner.
Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives, engaging in excellent customer service practices, including but not limited to, following ICARE.
Actively participates in interdisciplinary meetings, departmental in-service activities, evidence based journal article review, and/or AAMC-funded continuing education courses.
Provides technical supervision, direction, and support to staff Therapist Assistants, Rehab Aides, students, and volunteers.
Consults with and serves as a resource for physicians, nursing staff, and other clinicians to increase knowledge of therapy services. Demonstrates ability to use clinical decision-making skills to triage caseload and problem solve patient care issues.
Functions as a therapy leader performing administrative tasks as needed (i.e. patient scheduling,pleting predictive staffing matrix).
Educational/Experience Requirements:
The minimum level of education and experience for this position includes:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Acute care or related experience preferred; however, new graduates will be considered depending on current departmental staffing.
Required License/Certifications:
Current license in Speech-Language Pathology by the Maryland Board of Audiology/Hearing Aid Dispensers/Speech and Language Pathologists.
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification.
