Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to provide essential support to a K-12 school on a leave contract starting mid-November, with some overlap days prior to the maternity leave commencement. This contract is expected to extend through the 25-26 school year, concluding in late February. This role involves servicing approximately 55 to 60 students primarily at an elementary school setting, with potential responsibilities extending to a middle school. The schedule consists of 7.5-hour workdays, including a 30-minute duty-free lunch, totaling 37.5 hours per week. Key responsibilities include: Screening and assessing students' speech and language abilities to identify needs Developing and implementing Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals tailored to each student Providing direct speech therapy in individual and group formats Collaborating closely with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to support student progress Maintaining accurate progress notes and required documentation Enhancing communication strategies within classroom environments Adhering to legal and ethical standards governing school-based speech pathology services Qualifications and experience desired: Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist Experience working in a K-12 educational setting, preferably with a caseload of similar size Strong skills in assessment, IEP development, and therapy implementation Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Knowledge of school-based legal and ethical guidelines This contract provides a meaningful opportunity to impact student communication development and contribute to a supportive learning environment during a critical leave period.
