Travel Speech Therapist - Inpatient

American Traveler is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for an inpatient rehab position requiring a Maryland license, BLS, ASHA certification, and experience with acute care and stroke rehab.

• Position is in an inpatient rehab setting focusing on stroke and neuro rehab
• Patient population includes individuals with CVA, dysphagia, aphasia, and dysarthria
• Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, no evenings or holidays required
• Occasional weekend coverage may be requested
• Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience is preferred but not required
• Expectation to perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS); Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) experience preferred
• Uniform consists of blue shirt and khaki pants
• Candidates may float in rotation with facility staff based on experience
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No evening or holiday shifts are required
• Must be willing to occasionally work weekends
• RTO must be requested up front for the full 13-week contract; no more than 7 days RTO is highly preferred and none during the first two weeks
• A 60-mile local radius applies, and local candidates are accepted at a lower rate
• Return staff must have not been employed by the facility in the past 12 months
• Orientation and modules must be completed online prior to first shift, with modules recorded via transcripts
• Candidates are expected to use Kronos for timekeeping

• Active Maryland SLP license or compact equivalent required for consideration (license required if applicable)
• Current ASHA certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Minimum of one year SLP experience with at least one year in an inpatient setting
• Experience in acute care and stroke/CVA/rehab required
• Competency in performing MBSS is required; FEES experience preferred
• Experience with dysphagia, aphasia, dysarthria, and compensatory techniques required
• Two supervisor references required from the past two years
