A K-12 school in Tuscaloosa, AL is seeking a qualified Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist to provide specialized support and services to students with hearing impairments. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, develop, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing

- Provide direct instruction, auditory/oral and sign language support, and assistive technology training as needed
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet evolving needs
- Advocate for students' communication and educational rights within the school community

Qualifications:
- Relevant certification or licensure as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist, Teacher of the Deaf, or equivalent
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong knowledge of communication methods, assistive technology, and hearing accommodations
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with federal and state laws regarding special education services
