Description
- Conduct evaluations on patients across all age groups, utilizing standardized assessments and keen observational skills.
- Create individualized treatment strategies to address short-term objectives while considering long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing needs.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions that concentrate on enhancing communication, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
- Partner with a broad spectrum of healthcare professionals including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and physicians to craft unified care approaches.
- Provide educational resources for patients and their families, enabling progress beyond the therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations, ensuring that care remains continuous and tailored to patient needs.
- Uphold meticulous documentation practices to comply with state and federal regulations, while fulfilling organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, keeping abreast of new methodologies within the SLP field.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA certified.
Certifications
- Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA highly favored.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
