The School Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for providing occupational therapy services to studentswith disabilities within the school setting. This includes assessing students' fine motor, visual motor, self-care, andsensory processing skills, developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) goals, andcollaborating with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student success. The OT's primary goal is tohelp students participate in and benefit from their educational program.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide occupational therapy services to students by direct or consultation to addressrange or motion, sensory strategies and techniques, fine and gross motor activities asrelated to IEP goals. Maintain daily records of treatments and document progress notes. Consult and collaborate with teachers and teams by suggesting ideas for classroominterventions. Train other staff as needed. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Director ofSpecial Education may from time to time assign or delegate Direct services to studentsQUALIFICATIONS: Hold active State of Massachusetts Occupational Therapist license; Masters or Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy from an approved and accreditedprogram. Minimum of one year experience with a background in pediatrics, public school setting, assistivetechnology or sensory integration is desirable.REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education or their designeeSalary: Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, in accordance with the GloucesterPublic Schools salary schedule.
