The School Occupational Therapist willwork with students to develop, recover, or maintain daily living and workskills. The therapist will collaborate with teachers, parents, and otherprofessionals to create and implement individualized intervention plans thatsupport students’ educational goals.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, focusing on improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment.
  • Monitor and document students’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate and support parents and caregivers on strategies to support their child’s development at home.
  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to the development of IEP goals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of therapy sessions and student progress.
  • Stay current with best practices and advancements in occupational therapy.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience working with children in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
