Description
- Conduct evaluations for patients from pediatric to geriatric populations utilizing both standardized tests and personal observation.
- Create individualized treatment plans designed to meet both immediate and longer-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver targeted speech therapy interventions emphasizing communication, language proficiency, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing capabilities.
- Engage collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and families to devise comprehensive care strategies.
- Educate patients and families to empower them in advancing progress beyond clinical interventions.
- Conduct occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to maintain seamless care continuity.
- Document patient progress and maintain compliance with all state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Stay informed about current advancements in the field through continuous learning and professional collaboration.
Education
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- A completed supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
