Description

  • Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric age groups using standardized assessments and observational techniques.
  • Create tailored treatment plans focusing on immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Implement individualized speech therapy sessions that prioritize communication, language proficiency, fluency, voice, and swallowing support.
  • Team up with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care strategies.
  • Educate patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Participate in intermittent inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless treatment continuity.
  • Uphold accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • BLS certification is required within 30 days of employment.
