Mental Health Therapist, Inspiring Futures
Full-time, Hybrid: (1 to 2 days in office (Harlem)
Monday to Friday 9-5 or 10-6, with some later nights required
Position Summary:
Inspiring Futures is a non-profit organization, and the therapist would work directly with agency leadership. Therapists work with a caseload of young people ages 14 and older who have had experiences with the child welfare system. Therapists use a strengths-based approach to build a trusting relationship with young people, guided by voice and choice and empowerment. Therapists work weekly to help young people make progress towards their goals and work through barriers. Therapists start with an assessment of the young persons strengths and symptoms and create manageable goals. They work as part of a team with educational specialists and other youth supports to help the youth progress towards their goals. This role comes with opportunities for leadership development such as obtaining a SIFI as well as other certifications.
Therapist Responsibilities:
Build relationships with the young people on your caseload. Therapists use creative approaches to engage youth
Provide weekly, ongoing sessions in the youths communities, at our office, or virtually
Build relationships and collaborate with key adults in the young persons life to support their goals and well-being
Work as part of an interdisciplinary team with other professionals such as educational specialists and interns and attend needed meetings and supervision
Document progress and notes weekly
May work on macro-social work projects as needed
