Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing diverse assessment methods and observations.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that address both immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on various aspects of communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate closely with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to establish a unified approach to care.
  • Educate patients and families to bolster progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Occasionally conduct inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care throughout the rehabilitation process.
  • Keep precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and collaborative peer engagement.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
