Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized assessments and observation.
- Craft individualized treatment strategies that attend to immediate goals and overarching communication or swallowing objectives.
- Facilitate one-on-one speech therapy sessions focused on enhancing communication abilities, language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functionality.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to develop unified care approaches.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families to nurture progress outside of clinical settings.
- Administer occasional inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring patients transition seamlessly on their treatment path.
- Maintain meticulous documentation that meets state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage with ongoing professional development and peer collaboration to stay abreast of industry advancements.
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited academic institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
Certifications
- Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in Washington State.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be completed within 30 days of employment.
