About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant, reporting to the Therapy Services Manager to join our team. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting our licensed Physical Therapists in providing exceptional care to our residents. You will work closely with our residents to help them achieve their rehabilitation goals and improve their quality of life. Your role will be critical in ensuring that our residents receive the highest level of care possible.

Responsibilities:

Assist licensed Physical Therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans for the residents

Provide hands-on therapy to the residents under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist

Educate residents on exercises and activities to improve their mobility and strength

Document residents progress and communicate with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes

Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program

Current state license or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs independently, ability to assist in a 2 person lift for residents, while using a hoyer lift

Must submit to a criminal background check and be determined to be not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to hire

Employee shall submit to drug testing prior to employment.

Employee shall submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for cause

Must agree to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and Child Abuse Record Information

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a healthcare setting with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Experience working with residents with a variety of conditions and injuries

Additional certifications in specialized areas of physical therapy
