Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract A committed and skilled Occupational Therapist is sought to enhance the Early Childhood team supporting children ages 2-5 in an early intervention setting. This role focuses on providing comprehensive occupational therapy services to young children with diverse communication and developmental needs, fostering their success within the classroom and beyond. Job Type: Contract for the upcoming school year (NSY) Key Responsibilities: Assess fine motor skills, visual-motor coordination, sensory processing, self-regulation, and daily living skills of students. Develop and implement individualized therapy plans and goals collaboratively within the Individualized Education Program (IEP) framework. Provide direct occupational therapy services in classroom, small group, or individual sessions. Support educators in integrating developmentally appropriate strategies into daily classroom activities. Monitor, document, and report progress on IEP goals compliant with state and federal guidelines. Participate actively in evaluations, eligibility meetings, IEP development, and transition planning. Collaborate with families to promote skill development across home and community environments. Encourage student independence and access to curriculum and learning environments. Qualifications: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Valid state Occupational Therapist license and/or NBCOT registration. State Department of Education certification for school-based practice (if required). Experience working with early childhood populations, especially children with developmental delays or disabilities preferred. In-depth knowledge of sensory integration, motor development, and play-based intervention methods. Strong abilities in communication, teamwork, and time management. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with IDEA, early childhood special education, and inclusive classroom models. Experience with assistive technology and adaptive equipment for preschool settings. Bilingual abilities are an asset. Prior work in school-based or pediatric settings is advantageous.
