Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A specialized Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available to provide early intervention services to children ages 2-5 in a dedicated early childhood educational setting. This role focuses on supporting young learners with diverse communication needs, fostering their development and success in both classroom and community environments. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in early childhood students. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Deliver direct speech therapy in individual, small group, and classroom-integrated formats. Consult with educators, parents, and support staff to embed speech and language goals into daily curricula. Monitor and document student progress, ensuring compliance with relevant federal and state guidelines. Participate actively in IEP meetings, eligibility assessments, and transition planning. Support inclusive classroom models within early intervention and preschool special education programs. Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain best practices in speech-language pathology and early childhood education. Qualifications: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Valid state licensure and/or certification, such as ASHA CCC-SLP or CFY eligibility; applicable state education certification if required. Experience working with preschool-aged children in public school or early intervention settings is preferred. Strong understanding of child development, early literacy, play-based learning, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities. Preferred Skills: Experience supporting diverse student populations. Familiarity with IDEA, Section 504, and special education eligibility processes. Location: Milford, Delaware This contract position runs through the school year (NSY) in an early childhood educational environment.
