Your Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients ranging from children to seniors utilizing both established assessments and keen observation.
- Craft individualized treatment strategies tailored toward immediate goals as well as long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing objectives.
- Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy sessions that encompass language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
- Engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to enhance patient care.
- Educate patients and their families to empower them in their progress beyond the therapy room.
- Participate in occasional evaluations and interventions in inpatient settings to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Maintain diligence in documentation and reporting in line with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Commit to ongoing learning and collaboration with colleagues to stay at the forefront of the field.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required for those not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
- Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 30 days of employment.
