Description
- Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups using both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment plans that address both immediate needs and long-term goals related to communication, cognitive, and swallowing functions.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focused on various areas including language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Engage collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to develop integrated care strategies.
- Provide educational resources to patients and families to promote understanding and progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions as needed, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.
- Maintain prompt and accurate documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Stay abreast of developments in the field through continuous education and teamwork.
Education
- Possession of a Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
Certifications
- Must hold state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- AASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
