Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups using a variety of assessments and observational methods.
  • Craft customized treatment plans targeting both immediate needs and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing language, fluency, voice, and swallowing functionalities.
  • Work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families, to ensure holistic care.
  • Educate patients and families about care strategies to reinforce progress during non-clinical time.
  • Engage in some inpatient evaluations and interventions, maintaining seamless continuity of care throughout their therapy journey.
  • Document treatment and patient progress diligently, in accordance with state and federal regulations and internal policies.
  • Remain abreast of advancements within the speech therapy field through ongoing education and professional collaboration.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for candidates not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first month of employment.
