Description

  • Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups using standardized measures and observational assessments.
  • Create tailored treatment plans addressing both short-term objectives and long-term needs focused on communication, cognitive function, or swallowing.
  • Engage in individual speech therapy sessions, focusing on aspects such as communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Work alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop cohesive and comprehensive care plans.
  • Provide educational support to patients and families, ensuring progress continues beyond clinical appointments.
  • Assist with occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to maintain consistency in patient care.
  • Document treatment and assessments accurately, adhering to state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through continuing education and professional collaboration.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those yet to achieve ASHA certification.

Certifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hiring.
