Description

  • Assess patients of all ages using standardized evaluations and observation techniques.
  • Create customized treatment plans addressing immediate and long-term communication or swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver tailored speech therapy interventions focused on aspects such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to implement cohesive care strategies.
  • Provide education to patients and their families to enhance progress outside of treatment sessions.
  • Conduct inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as needed, ensuring seamless care throughout the patient journey.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Stay updated on advancements in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
