Description

  • Conduct evaluations of patients within pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using observational methods and standardized assessments.
  • Design individualized treatment strategies that align with short-term needs as well as long-term communication or swallowing goals.
  • Administer personalized therapy sessions centered on various elements such as language, swallow function, fluency, and voice.
  • Partner closely with occupational and physical therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to build comprehensive care plans.
  • Provide patient and family education that encourages progress outside of the clinical environment.
  • Support with occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, promoting seamless continuity of care.
  • Ensure accurate and prompt documentation that adheres to local, state, and federal regulations as well as organizational standards.
  • Stay ahead in your field by engaging in continual education and collaborative practices with fellow professionals.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successfully complete a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
