Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations for patients across various age groups using standardized assessments and discerning observational skills.
- Craft individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.
- Implement one-on-one speech therapy interventions focusing on essential aspects such as language, voice, fluency, and swallowing.
- Work closely with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to develop integrated care strategies.
- Provide informative patient and family education to encourage supportive progress beyond the clinical setting.
- Perform occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless transition of care throughout their treatment journey.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Engage in continuous professional development to remain abreast of innovations in therapy practices through education and collaboration.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized program.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet achieved.
Certifications
- State license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
