Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

Reports to: Special Services Director and Special Services Assistant Director

General Summary: Plans and administers occupational therapy, under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist, for students with disabilities who have been identified through a case conference committee decision to require occupational therapy

Essential Functions:

  • Assess student's strength, developmental levels, motor development, sensory perception, range of motion, self-care and social skills.
  • Records and collects data to develop or revise treatment plans.
  • Evaluates, designs, or adapts materials, equipment, or the educational environment to meet student's needs.
  • Consults with parents, teachers, paraprofessionals, and other related services personnel.
  • Completes documentation as required.
  • Submits Medicaid reimbursement billing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational therapist Assistant program with an associates, bachelors, masters, or doctorate degree
  • NBCOT certification
  • current Indiana COTA license
  • Valid Driver's License.

Length of Position:

  • Monday-Friday throughout the school year for a total of 185 school days.
