The Gloucester Preschool is seeking a dedicated and collaborative individual to provide regular Speech and Language Pathologist/Itinerant services, starting the 2025-2026 school year.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities: Evaluate students referred for speech/language assessments, keep appropriate records, and adjust programs according to evaluation results.Participate in Team evaluation and review meetings for students on caseload.Write Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including goals and objectives for students receiving speech/language therapy services.Complete progress reports for all students on caseload, according to the schedule set by school and special education regulations.Perform re-evaluations of students focusing on areas of educational needs at intervals determined by the individual education plan and/or state special education regulations.Plan, organize, and conduct the speech/language therapy program in a school setting to facilitate the development and enhance the learning of students with speech, language, written expression and social pragmatic challenges.Treat children with a wide range of disabilities using a variety of modalities, activities, equipment, and resources in order to improve or facilitate skill development in speech, receptive and expressive language, written expression, and social pragmatics.Collaborate with other members of the teaching staff to schedule treatment consistent with the needs and capabilities of the student, especially with respect to school goals and guidelines.Encourage the development of individual and compensatory speech/language skills needed for productive participation in the school learning process.Qualifications:1.Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).2.Valid Massachusetts teaching certification/licensure3.Experience with delivering school-based services to school-aged students, K-124.Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.5.Strong effective written and oral communication skills.6.Second language (Spanish and/or Portuguese) proficiency a plus7.Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.8.Proficiency in using technology and educational software.Status: Full-timeSalary: Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, in accordance with the Gloucester Public Schools GTA salary schedule.
