Description

  • Create customized treatment plans that cater to both immediate and future communication and swallowing needs.
  • Administer targeted speech therapy sessions, concentrating on language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing care.
  • Collaborate closely with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, families, and caregivers to craft unified care strategies.
  • Educate patients and their loved ones on strategies to enhance progress outside clinic visits.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapeutic interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  • Create and maintain meticulous documentation adhering to state and federal regulations as well as organizational policies.
  • Engage in ongoing learning through continued education and peer mentoring to stay at the forefront of the profession.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet held.

Certifications

  • Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) granted by ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days after joining.
