Category Therapy - Hospital - SLPA Job Type Contract A Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) position is available for the 2025-2026 school year in a K-12 school setting located in King George, VA. This role supports the implementation of speech-language intervention services, working under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide tailored educational support for students with speech-language disorders. Responsibilities: Deliver individualized intervention services designed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist to improve students' speech skills. Obtain case histories, complete observation checklists, and assist in administering and scoring assessments. Support assessment sessions and facilitate progress monitoring. Collaborate with therapists, teachers, parents, and other professionals to share information regarding students' goals and progress. Attend IEP meetings, parent conferences, and staff in-services to provide relevant input. Prepare documentation to support evaluations, IEPs, and progress reports. Ensure smooth transportation of students to and from testing or therapy areas. Perform additional duties as assigned to support program goals. Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech, Language and Hearing, or Communication Disorders. Experience as a paraprofessional or in a school environment is preferred. Training or experience in language and articulation therapy is advantageous. Strong communication skills, including active listening and collaborative interaction. Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, motivated, and cooperative attitude. Willingness to learn and implement new strategies and techniques effectively.
