Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract A full-time occupational therapist opportunity is available at three elementary school sites within driving distance of Crawfordsville, IN. This contract role, starting as soon as May 22nd, requires a dedicated OT to support elementary-aged students throughout the upcoming school year. The position offers a 40-hour work week and involves working collaboratively with educational professionals and families to enhance student development and participation. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate students to determine eligibility for occupational therapy services under IDEA and Section 504 guidelines. Develop and implement IEP goals related to occupational therapy needs. Provide direct and consultative OT services in individual, small group, and classroom settings using evidence-based approaches. Collaborate closely with educators, parents, administrators, and related service providers to promote student progress and inclusion. Address skill areas including fine motor development, sensory processing, self-regulation, visual-motor integration, daily living activities, and assistive technology. Maintain accurate documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and service logs. Participate in IEP meetings, student support teams, and multidisciplinary evaluations. Offer training and resources to school staff and families to support student needs. Assist in adapting materials or environments to optimize student engagement and accessibility. Qualifications: Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current Indiana Licensure as a Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR). NBCOT Certification. School-based experience preferred but not required. Ability to travel between multiple school sites. Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and school-based therapy best practices. Skills and Competencies: Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Effective caseload management and task prioritization. Familiarity with assistive technology and sensory integration methods. Ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams. Student-centered and culturally responsive approach.
