Situated within the School of Health Professions, the Department of Physical Therapy at Saint Josephs University seeks qualified Teaching Assistants (TAs) to support laboratory instruction and/or grading across multiple content areas. This part-time role is ideal for licensed physical therapists with a strong clinical background who are interested in contributing to the education of future physical therapists. TAs who support laboratory instruction work on site. TAs who support grading may work remotely with instructor approval.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on instructional support in laboratory-based courses for 24 hours per week.
Assist faculty in demonstrating clinical skills and guiding student practice.
Offer feedback to students on technique, safety, and clinical reasoning.
Assess students on clinical skills during competencies and practicals.
Communicate regularly with course instructors regarding lab content and expectations.
Maintain a professional and collaborative presence during lab sessions.
Areas of Instruction May Include:
Orthopedic physical therapy
Neurologic rehabilitation
Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
General physical therapy examination and intervention techniques
Specialty topics (e.g., movement analysis/biomechanics, pediatrics, geriatrics, vestibular, pelvic health, integumentary care, or others as needed)
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
Current license to practice physical therapy
Demonstrated clinical expertise in one or more of the content areas listed above
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to the mission of Saint Josephs University and to student-centered education
Preferred:
Prior teaching, clinical teaching or mentoring experience
