Location: CHA Cambridge Hospital Work Days: 6p-6a,10p-6a,2-10, every other w/e & Hol Category: Allied Health Department: Respiratory Care CH Job Type: Full time Work Shift: Evening / Night Hours/Week: 40.00 Union Name: CH Laborers 380 The Respiratory Care Department, operating under the medical direction of the Pulmonary department, provides comprehensive respiratory services across Cambridge Health Alliance's Cambridge, Everett, and Somerville campuses. Our dedicated team of Respiratory Therapists delivers a wide range of essential therapeutic services, including administering medical gases, performing arterial blood gas analysis, managing airways, and conducting pulmonary function tests. We are committed to customer satisfaction, effective resource utilization, teamwork, and continuous quality improvement, ensuring the highest standard of respiratory care for both inpatients and outpatients. Responsibilities Administers therapeutic gasses such as oxygen, compressed air and various mixtures. Draws and analyzes arterial blood gasses (ABG's). Airway management, intubates when appropriate (Everett campus only following competency completion). Administers aerosolized therapy, Incentive Spirometry (IS), and Chest Physical Therapy (CPT), Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP). Performs Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT's). (Departmental training required)Performs cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Tracheostomy care. Maintains accurate and complete records of treatments, drugs, supplies consumed and charges. Records pertinent information in patient charts or other records as required. Continuously keeps abreast of new techniques. Performs in-service instruction as assigned and instructs nursing personnel in the routines and precautions of treatment. Assists in scheduling workload and assumes supervisory responsibilities as required. Adjusts to new, different, or urgent work situations. Communicates effectively and works as part of a team. Performs other related or similar duties as assigned or as responsibilities necessitate. Sets up and adjusts therapeutic PAP equipment for patients with OSA. Sets up and adjusts Non-Invasive bi-level ventilation equipment.
