Description
- Conduct assessments for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations employing standardized tools and observational methods.
- Create customized therapy plans that align with both immediate goals and long-lasting communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focused on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing interventions.
- Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Provide educational resources for patients and families, helping them reinforce progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Support occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain a seamless continuum of care throughout the rehabilitation journey.
- Keep accurate and timely documentation according to state, federal, and institutional standards.
- Engage in continuous learning and collaborate with peers to remain at the forefront of industry advancements.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
