Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning the pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups using a mix of standardized assessments and keen observational techniques.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans that cater to short-term objectives and long-term goals related to communication, cognitive needs, or swallowing.
  • Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy interventions that enhance communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team that includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to establish integrated care plans.
  • Provide education to patients and families, empowering them in supporting progress beyond clinical sessions.
  • Occasionally perform speech therapy evaluations and interventions in inpatient settings, ensuring a nurturing continuum of care throughout the rehabilitation process.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Stay informed about advancements in the field through continuous education and peer collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
