Travel Respiratory Therapist

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with advanced adult care skills and Illinois licensure for a night shift hospital assignment.

• Position is based in a hospital respiratory therapy department
• Care is provided to adult, pediatric, and adolescent patients in general floors, intermediate units, ICUs, and emergency department
• Performs advanced mechanical ventilation, including high frequency and specialty gas administration
• 12-hour night shifts are required
• Delivers respiratory care interventions as ordered, including airway management, administration of medical gases, and rapid response participation
• Serves as primary airway manager during Blue Alerts and emergencies
• Rounds as part of the interdisciplinary team in critical care areas and participates in documentation according to regulatory standards
• On-call must be pre-approved by department manager
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted and offered local rates

• Completion of a respiratory therapy program from an accredited school is required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care is required
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the State of Illinois is required; license required if applicable
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
• Basic electronic medical record documentation skills are needed
• Ability to lift objects up to 60 pounds and to stand for extended periods is required
• Must be able to push/pull respiratory equipment and position patients regularly
