Our client is seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (PRN) to join their team in a geriatric care setting. The ideal candidate will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and cognitive disorders in elderly patients to improve their quality of life and daily functioning.
Speech-Language Pathologist Responsibilities (PRN) & Requirements
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in elderly patients.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including speech therapy exercises, cognitive training, and dysphagia (swallowing) therapy.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare providers, including physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and nurses, to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans.
Speech-Language Pathologist (PRN) Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology license in the state of Washington, DC.
- Experience working with geriatric populations, particularly in addressing speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, is preferred.
- Strong understanding of age-related speech and language disorders, dementia, cognitive impairments, and dysphagia.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with elderly patients and their families.
