Job Description and Duties

SENIOR OCCUPATIONALTHERAPIST

Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy services (POST) under Medical Ancillary Services is looking to fill a vacant Senior Occupational Therapist position. The SOT in conjunction with the Chief of Primary Care and/or the Chief Physician and Surgeon plans the operations and supervises the personnel of the occupational therapy program as well as perform occupational therapy work.

The SOT is also responsible to train technical therapist and non-technical assistants, assigns, supervises and evaluates their work and takes or recommends appropriate action with respect to their work performance. Oversees POST therapy evaluations and treatment provision, leads and participates in team discussions and meetings, oversees the ordering and care of adaptive equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Registration with the National Registry of the American Occupational Therapy Association or eligibility for such registration and One year of supervised staff experience in occupational therapy.

This is a TAU appointment. The selected candidate will be expected to pass the Senior Occupational Therapist examination once available. Upon successful completion of the exam, the candidate will then transition to permanent status.
