Description
- Conduct assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing both standardized tests and observational methods.
- Create customized treatment programs tailored to meet both short-term goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Engage in direct speech therapy interventions focused on areas such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and caregivers, to develop integrated care strategies.
- Educate patients and families to ensure progress continues beyond clinical visits.
- Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, maintaining seamless care throughout the healing process.
- Keep accurate and timely documentation, adhering to both state and federal regulations as well as organization guidelines.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Education
- A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not already ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- A current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- ASHAs Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) strongly preferred.
- A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
