Spartanburg Medical Center Church Street campus (SMC-CS) is a division of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. SMC-CS is ranked #2 in South Carolina by U.S. News & World Report in 2020-21. SMC-CS is also a Primary Stroke Center and an American College of Surgeons (ACS)-verified Level I Trauma Center.
Our dynamic rehabilitation team consists of PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs, and SLPs who work collaboratively to provide innovative patient care in our 500 bed acute care hospital. Our PT department patient census averages 230 patients daily. Our patient population includes, but is not limited to, orthopedic, neurologic, cardiac, critical care, general medical, general surgical, and oncology diagnoses.

Weekends and holidays are required in this position.
Position Summary
The Physical Therapist Assistant provides direct patient care services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist and understands treatment plan and procedure modifications. The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for documentation of patient treatments, patient charges, and other information as needed. The Physical Therapist Assistant is also responsible for the supervision of ancillary staff. He/she participates in community presentations, staff education, and other departmental activities as requested by the supervisor, manager or director.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited physical therapist assistant education program
License/Registration/Certifications
- CPR-AHA BLS
- SC PTA License
Preferred Requirements
Preferred Experience
- One to five (1-5) years\' experience in relevant practice area
