Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using established assessments and observation methods.
  • Create tailored treatment plans addressing both short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing necessities.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions that focus on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing difficulties.
  • Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop cohesive care strategies.
  • Provide education to patients and families to support their progress beyond clinical sessions.
  • Occasionally engage in inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care throughout each patient's journey.
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date documentation following all pertinent state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
