School Speech Therapist

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available at an elementary school setting in West Hartford, CT, providing contract services for the current school year. This opportunity is well-suited for professionals with experience in school-based speech therapy, who can deliver supportive and individualized care to elementary-aged students. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct speech and language therapy services to approximately 29 students, shared with an SLP Assistant Attend PPT/IEP meetings to collaborate on student progress and develop individualized education plans Create, implement, and monitor goals tailored to each student's communication needs Supervise and support the work of the SLP Assistant to ensure effective therapy delivery Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students as needed Preferred Experience and Qualifications: Valid Speech-Language Pathologist certification/licensure Experience working in a school environment, preferably with elementary-aged children Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and related compliance Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and support staff Supervisory experience with support personnel is a plus Schedule and Location: Ideal hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM; part-time arrangements may be considered Position based in West Hartford, CT Compensation: Competitive hourly rate estimated between $40 and $55 per hour This contract role offers the chance to impact student communication development in a supportive, educational setting.
