Description

  • Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing standardized tests alongside observational methods.
  • Craft specialized treatment plans that target immediate objectives as well as ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focused on various aspects of communication, including language proficiency, fluency, vocal attributes, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Work in conjunction with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to devise coordinated care strategies.
  • Provide education and resources to patients and families to ensure progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.
  • Maintain precise and prompt documentation in accordance with applicable state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in continuous education and peer collaboration to keep abreast of the latest trends within the field.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Therapist .
  • Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting employment.
