Description

  • Assess patients throughout pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups utilizing both standardized assessment tools and observational strategies.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans designed to meet immediate objectives as well as long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing necessities.
  • Administer personalized speech therapy sessions targeting various aspects including communication, language fluency, vocal quality, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Collaborate effectively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, family members, and caregivers to devise cohesive care plans.
  • Encourage patient and family education to bolster progress beyond clinical encounters.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the patient's treatment path.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and peer collaboration to stay current with the latest advancements in the field.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited academic institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment.
