OTR Occupational Therapist - Inpatient Care

Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients with musculoskeletal, vascular, and neurological conditions, tailoring care to individual needs. Educate patients, families, healthcare staff, and the community on preventative care and therapy techniques. Act as a vital link between patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, and social services to ensure coordinated and effective therapy delivery.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Utilize clinical expertise and sound judgment to deliver high-quality care across all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric patients. Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, patient and family education, safety instruction, and communication with relevant parties.
2. Operate therapeutic equipment such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation devices, mechanical traction, exercise machines, wound care tools, and hospital beds.
3. Guide patients in the use of assistive devices, braces, orthotics, prosthetics, and orthopedic equipment.
4. Assist patients with mobility, strengthening exercises, muscle reeducation, gait training, activities of daily living, and functional training.
5. Modify traditional physiotherapy techniques for patients who have difficulty understanding verbal instructions or performing exercises independently.
6. Maintain thorough documentation of patient care in compliance with regulatory standards and departmental policies.
7. Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives, including peer review and evaluation of patient care quality.
8. Foster excellent communication and relationships with patients, colleagues, and other departments, supporting the organization's mission and values.
9. Supervise and direct aides, students, and volunteers involved in therapy services.
10. Support departmental functions as assigned by therapy leadership.
11. Participate in ongoing education and provide training materials to staff on a rotating basis.

Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapy program recognized by relevant national associations. Commitment to continuing education relevant to clinical practice and professional responsibilities. Active involvement in professional organizations at local, state, and national levels is encouraged.

Licensure and Certifications:
1. Must hold or be eligible for licensure in the applicable state.
2. CPR certification is required.
