Description

  • Assess patients of varying ages, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients, utilizing standardized tests and observational methods.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans that cater to both short-term and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver tailored speech therapy interventions targeting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team consisting of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to form integrated care strategies.
  • Provide education and guidance to patients and families to support continued progress beyond each session.
  • Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions, maintaining continuity of care throughout each patient's journey.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Stay updated on advancements in the field through ongoing education and peer interactions.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification expected within 30 days of employment.
