University of Washington Medical CenterMontlake Rehabilitation Therapies has an outstanding opportunity for a OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST 2.WORK SCHEDULE- 60% FTE; 24 hours per week- Day Shift
POSITION HIGHLIGHTSThis individual will be responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering occupational therapy evaluation and intervention to patients referred by a licensed provider.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESDirects COTAs, aides, students, and volunteersObserves and evaluates treatment effectPerforms an appropriate evaluation on all patients as related to the therapy requested and provided and reassessments as per protocol. This includes adolescent, geriatric patients and the general patient populationAssesses patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation makes appropriate physician contact for interventionPerforms all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errorsFormulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching as appropriateHas knowledge of occupational therapy interventionsMaintains records pertinent to personnel and operation of the departmentConsults with other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activitiesAssists with orientation and in-service training, participates in guidance and educational programsAssists in evaluation of staff including interviewing and hiringMaintains productivity requirementsPerforms other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program AND successful completion of American Occupational Therapy Association certification examination AND 18 months of professional occupational therapy experience.OR Equivalent education/experience.- Licensed by the state of Washington as an Occupational Therapist or has a valid probational certificate issued by the state of Washington to practice occupational therapy.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:One (1) year of acute care experience
