Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations for individuals across all age groups using recognized assessment tools and observational methods.
- Design tailored treatment plans that effectively target both immediate and long-term goals pertaining to communication, cognition, or swallowing.
- Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy sessions addressing language, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and medical professionals to devise coordinated care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and their families to reinforce progress during non-clinical hours.
- Occasionally assist in inpatient evaluations and treatments to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
- Maintain precise and timely records in compliance with both state and federal medical regulations.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of industry advancements.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already certified by ASHA.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first month of employment.
