Description
- Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric demographics using standardized tests and observational assessments.
- Create individualized treatment plans addressing immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions targeting language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues.
- Work closely with a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to create integrated care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and families to facilitate progress beyond clinical sessions.
- Support the occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout treatment.
- Keep precise and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Engage in ongoing learning through education and collaboration with peers to stay updated on advancements in the field.
Education
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
