Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessments and clinical observations.
  • Craft tailored treatment plans that focus on immediate goals as well as enduring communication, cognitive, and swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver targeted speech therapy interventions concentrating on communication, language proficiency, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to enhance patient care strategies.
  • Provide educational resources to patients and their families to encourage progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Administer occasional inpatient therapy evaluations and treatments, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.
  • Accurately maintain documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational requirements.
  • Keep abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology via continuing education and professional collaboration.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a clinical fellowship year (CFY) if the ASHA certification has not yet been obtained.

Certifications

  • Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be acquired within 30 days of hire.
